Spirit of Miss USA
22-year-old Mikayla Holmgren from Minnesota, became the first person with a disability who participated in the contest "Miss USA".
Mikayla Holmgren became the winner in nominations "Spirit of Miss USA" and the "Director's Award" .But the very fact of its participation in such a prestigious beauty contest many people call a great victory.
Girl since childhood, loves dancing and loves to perform in front of an audience. "Dancing helps me to Express myself," she says, " it's my passion."
Mikayla already have experience of participation in beauty contests. In 2015 she won the title of "Incredible miss Minnesota" and then participated in the national beauty pageant for girls with disabilities Junior Miss Amazing. When she was asked to participate in the contest "Miss USA", the girl agreed without hesitation. "I was shocked – she said, – I started with a competition for people with disabilities, and now has become a party to the biggest competition in the world."
According to the judges, Mikayla Holmgren has won in two nominations of the contest "Miss USA" because of its incredible smile and successful performance in the dance room. "Anyone who will hold her at least five minutes, you will understand that it can become representative of the community people should be involved in such competitions," said Executive Director of the competition Denise Wallis.
