The number of complaints from people with disabilities has been growing over the past five years.

Disabled people in Russia began to complain more often about the violation of their rights. The number of appeals from them to the Ministry of labor, the government and the presidential administration has increased by 15% over the past five years. A similar trend was recorded in the office of the Commissioner for human rights. Experts associate it with the fact that people have become better versed in their rights and learned to defend them.

"About 50% of appeals are related to medical and social expertise, the results of which citizens disagree. They also complain about the delay in providing technical means of rehabilitation. This is due to the requirements of the procurement law, according to which the terms of competitive procedures can be up to 40 days."

The Ministry believes that the increase in the number of appeals is associated with raising awareness of citizens about their rights, as well as the development of electronic services for filing complaints.

Most of the appeals are related to problems in obtaining disability. In addition, people complain about the lack of necessary preferential drugs in pharmacies.
